When SonicWall approached us, they saw an opportunity to refresh their brand to better align with their forward-thinking vision for next-generation security. Having recently undergone a comprehensive rebranding process, they weren’t looking to start from scratch but to build upon their existing identity in a way that felt fresh, innovative, and future-focused. The goal was to create a brand that not only reflected their adaptability in protecting modern digital environments and underscored their leadership in the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape but also sharpened their philosophy of "Never alone, relentless security.

Evolving beyond perceptions.

Historically known as a firewall company, SonicWall’s previous brand identity no longer captured the breadth and sophistication of their evolved offerings. Over the years, the company had made significant investments in innovation and diversification, expanding far beyond firewalls to become a leader in comprehensive cybersecurity solutions. However, this evolution created a disconnect between their legacy perception and the reality of what they now offered. Their existing identity—although new—failed to communicate the depth and diversity of their advanced capabilities, including cutting-edge solutions in network security, endpoint protection, secure access, and more. This presented a unique opportunity to completely reposition SonicWall’s brand as modern, dynamic, and aligned with their groundbreaking contributions to the cybersecurity space.

A fluid new visual experience.

In today's cybersecurity landscape, a brand's visual identity must be as dynamic and resilient as its technology. To thrive, a brand needs a look and feel that can scale and bend to accommodate diverse content requirements, creating a recognizable identity while allowing for flexibility in design. SonicWall's new visual identity, inspired by the “glass wave,” embodies this principle, symbolizing adaptability, clarity, and strength. The design system masterfully combines sharp edges with fluid overlays and offers both light and dark modes, ensuring it is scalable and versatile across all platforms. This strategic flexibility allows SonicWall to craft a powerful, consistent brand narrative while adapting to any medium or message. SonicSentry is a flagship service that expands SonicWall’s capabilities into the realm of managed security, offering advanced features such as proactive threat detection, zero-day neutralization, and live monitoring for unparalleled protection. When designing SonicSentry’s visual identity, the goal was to create a look and feel that was both distinguished and recognizable. The client wanted the new design to stand out as a premium offering while still aligning with the established SonicWall brand. To achieve this, a sleek dark mode aesthetic was developed, striking a balance between consistency with the overall brand and carving out a unique identity for SonicSentry. This sophisticated design not only enhances its visual impact on the website and in presentations but also signals its importance to investors and customers as a leading-edge capability within SonicWall’s product suite.

A strong spotlight on partners.

Recognizing the importance of their partners, SonicWall revamped their partner program to provide holistic support and growth opportunities. It includes exclusive product training, sales enablement kits, and co-branded marketing resources, all reinforced by a distinct use of lifestyle photography. By integrating the signature SonicWall logo into visuals, the program stands out while staying cohesive within the brand identity. The redesigned program affirms SonicWall’s commitment to mutual success with its partners.

A fresh new website experience.

SonicWall challenged us to infuse their new brand identity into their existing website without disrupting its core structure and navigation. We’ve been working closely with their team to strategically integrate the new visual language—from the fluid “glass wave” elements to clean, compelling imagery—across the entire digital experience. This ongoing collaboration ensures a seamless evolution, maintaining the integrity of the site's information architecture while building a more dynamic, future-ready digital presence.
